Dimensions / Submissions

Dimensions is issuing an open call for Thesis and Wallenberg projects from 2009 graduates of Taubman College's Architecture Program.

Dimensions invites submissions to be considered for inclusion in volume 23, slated for publication in summer 2010.

Submission requirements and deadlines for the open call are listed below.

Important Dates

  • October 23  Deadline for receipt of PDF Submission
  • October 25  Confirmation of receipt of submission
  • November 2  Notification of Selection Decisions
  • November 20  Deadline for receipt of final materials from accepted contributors

Submission Requirements

Submit one (1) "Print Quality" PDF of your submission in any desired size or format.

Submitters are encouraged to work from their existing portfolio format rather than reformatting it to another size specifically for the open call.

Submissions should include both descriptive project text (700-1300 words) and imagery of your work.

The submissions must remain anonymous, so your name must not appear anywhere within the submission PDF.

Include a text file that includes your full name and a current email address named uniqname.txt

Thesis Students: "Thesis_Uniqname.pdf"
Wallenberg Students: "Wallenberg_Uniqname.pdf"

Files will be renamed anonymously before review by Dimensions 23 staff.

Files under 5 MB may be emailed to dimensions@umich.edu
All other PDFs, should be posted it to a webhost and Dimensions notified of the URL; sent in via an online service, such as yousendit.com; or mailed on CD-R to Dimensions 23 c/o Taubman College at the address below. A method of shipping with a tracking number is recommended.

Your submission will be used as a basis for the Dimensions staff to select projects for inclusion in Dimensions 23. To best represent your project, please provide the most relevant documentation. Keep in mind that this PDF will not be the final layout published in the journal and additional materials and native files will be requested upon acceptance. Given the size of the actual files used for design and production, all accepted contributors should be prepared to submit their final materials – by mail only – no later than November 20, 2009.
