Eligible Submissions

Submissions are welcome from all students in the Urban Planning, Urban Design, and Real Estate Certificate programs. Taubman College encourages a variety of work including, but not limited to essays, reviews, maps, designs, photography, and other art work. If work is completed under a grant or in collaboration with others, written permission must show that the work is allowed to be printed.

Cover Sheet
All submissions should include a cover sheet with the article's title, author's name, phone number, email address, and a two-sentence biographical statement. Include an abstract of no more than 150 words.

Text Submissions
Maximum text length for submissions for print is 3,000 words not including cover page, abstract, notes, references, and graphics. Longer submissions will be accepted for the online publication based on the understanding that they will need to be modified for print.The manuscript should be 12pt font, double-spaced with one-inch margins on all sides. All pages in the document should have a header including author's name, title of the piece, and page number. All notes, tables, and graphs should be placed at the end of the document with their desired position in the text clearly indicated.

The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th edition (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1993); Kate L. Turabian, A manual for writers, 5th ed. (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1987). Source Citations and Notes: Authors must use in-text references (e.g., Smith 1993, 23) with a full list of references that contains only references to works cited in the text. Endnotes should contain only substantive commentary on material text.,

Maps, Designs and other Graphic Submissions
Visuals should be submitted as a PDF or jpeg that are no larger than 11"x17". Submissions may be in color, but please note that most or all of the publication will be in black and white so please consider how the graphic will reduce to grayscale. Images should be at least 600 dpi to ensure quality printing. All authors must provide written permission from the copyright holder to publish anything covered under copyright. Authors must also submit a credit line for each image.
